Lewis Hamilton has compared his Mercedes W15 to a "plank of wood" following a dismal São Paulo Grand Prix.

Hamilton could only muster a 10th-place finish in the race after taking the chequered flag 11th in the sprint on a weekend where team-mate George Russell comprehensively out-performed the seven-time F1 champion.

The 39-year-old reported a lack of grip and feeling from the rear of his machine - a common complaint - in the wet conditions as he also suffered a second Q1 exit on pure pace in three races.

Reflecting on his feelings after his first P10 finish since the 2022 Saudi Arabian GP, Hamilton was unflattering about the car.

"It is like a plank of wood," Hamilton told Sky Sports F1.

"There is no suspension. It is bouncing on the tyres everywhere and you can't get on the power anywhere.

"I think it was the worst ride we've ever had, particularly through the corners.

"Hopefully we don't have any more bumpy tracks - I think the last three aren't so bouncy - but I could happily take a holiday."
