Lewis Hamilton labelled the Sao Paulo Grand Prix as "crap" as he claimed the end of his Mercedes career "can't come soon enough."

After finishing 11th in the sprint, Hamilton was knocked out in Q1 for grand prix qualifying but managed to run on the fringes of the points throughout the race.

However, he was complaining of a lack of grip and stability from his W15 machine, and could only finish in 10th place - the first time he has done so since the 2022 Saudi Arabian GP and for just the fourth time in his career.

The result, coupled with George Russell's fourth place meant the two Britons swapped places in the drivers' championship in sixth and seventh, as Ferrari-bound Hamilton reflected on one of his poorest weekends for a while.

"The race was crap, but driving [Ayrton] Senna's car was the best thing ever, so I am happy and grateful for that experience," Hamilton told media including RacingNews365.

"Let's not talk about the car, because the car is no good.

"[Saturday] was terrible, [Sunday] was terrible, qualifying and the sprint race were bad, the car has just been bad all weekend.

When then asked he could not wait to get to the end of the season, Hamilton replied: "The end can't come soon enough."
