Franco Colapinto

Franco Colapinto is an Argentine driver who replaced Logan Sargeant from the Dutch Grand Prix onwards for the remainder of the 2024 Formula 1 season at Williams. He scored five points for the team but did not secure a full-time contract with any Formula 1 team at the start of 2025. However, after the Miami Grand Prix, he replaced Jack Doohan at Alpine, joining Pierre Gasly as a full-time driver in Formula 1.

Franco Colapinto's Formula 1 Debut

After the Dutch Grand Prix in 2024, Franco Colapinto was announced as Logan Sargeant's replacement at Williams. The Argentine competed in the remaining races of the season, scoring five points for the team. His strong performance put him in the spotlight, however, the significant damage of approximately 3.4 million euros caused in just nine races cast a shadow over his achievements.

Franco Colapinto Alpine Reserve Driver 2025

Franco Colapinto was unable to secure a full-time seat with a Formula 1 team for 2025, but he became a reserve driver at Alpine. However, at the start of the season, there were already many rumors that Flavio Briatore wanted to replace full-time driver Jack Doohan with the Argentine driver. This became reality after just six races in the 2025 season, with Colapinto becoming a full-time driver for the French team, alongside teammate Pierre Gasly. As a result, Jack Doohan returned to his role as reserve driver at Alpine.
