With F1 pre-season testing underway, predictions are already being made as to who will win the 2024 Drivers' Championship.

Unsurprisingly, one driver leads the way when it comes to the bookies, any guesses as to who that might be?

Of course, reigning World Champion Max Verstappen is the clear favourite to claim a fourth consecutive title, and it is easy to see why. Verstappen has won 34 races across the last two seasons and obliterated countless records in 2023.

He cruised to the crown last season after amassing a record-breaking 575 points, 290 points more than teammate Sergio Perez who secured second in the standings. For any of the other 19 drivers to dethrone Verstappen, a miracle is required.

The likes of Lewis Hamilton, Charles Leclerc and Fernando Alonso are all motivated to try and topple the Dutchman, with Formula E CEO Jeff Dodds raising the stakes for whoever manages to defeat the 26-year-old.

During an interview on TNT Sports, the home of Formula E in the United Kingdom and Ireland, Dodds promised to donate $250,000 to a charity chosen by whichever driver beats Verstappen to the championship this year, if anyone can, that is!

“If any one of the other 19 drivers win it, we’ll give a quarter of a million dollars to the charity of choice of the driver that does win it," Dodds said.

The chances of Verstappen being beaten to the title this season are slim, but Dodds' wager will further motivate his rivals to defeat him.
