F1 has issued a statement after ticket touts were able to secure an allocation for its first-of-its-kind F1 Live.

In a bid to protect fans and prevent the further sale of fraudulent tickets, F1 has warned against purchasing resale tickets from non-official sites.

Due to take place at the O2 Arena in London on 18 February 2025, the launch event will see all 10 teams attend, unveiling their 2025 liveries as F1 celebrates the start of its 75th season.

Each of the 20 drivers and 10 team principals are scheduled to participate, with the promise of interviews and entertainment during the two-hour event.

With tickets going on sale at 10:00 GMT on 15 November 2024, the event at the 20,000-capacity venue was sold out within an hour from official vendors.

However, it quickly became apparent that ticket scalps, such as Viagogo, had managed to source a portion of the allocation for listing.

Whilst tickets had retailed at between £58 and £113, the cheapest ticket on Viagogo had reached £220 by early afternoon, with the high-water mark being £1,955.

F1 has stated tickets bought from re-sale platforms will not be accepted.

Full statement provided by F1 below.

F1 statement warning against fraudulent ticket sales

"We are aware that a few tickets for our season launch event at The O2 have been listed on unofficial resale websites. We can confirm that this is against the terms and conditions of sale and that any tickets bought through an unofficial resale platform are not valid for entry.

"Working with The O2 we have also identified that a number of the listings are fraudulent. We advise all our fans to only buy tickets through theo2.co.uk or via AXS Official Resale”
