F1 fans torn over who should partner Tsunoda at RB

The debate as to who should be Yuki Tsunoda's team-mate at RB in 2025 is a polarised one, and F1 fans are almost completely split on the subject.

The Faenza-based outfit has taken up its option on the Japanese driver for next season. That means either incumbent Daniel Ricciardo or reserve Liam Lawson will be left out in the cold for 2025 - with the remaining seat at RB heavily expected to go to one of those two names.

Whilst over 84 percent of F1 fans wanted to see Tsunoda team up with Max Verstappen at Red Bull, that has not happened for now. The Milton Keynes-based squad extended Sergio Perez through to at least the end of 2025. There is an option in place for 2026.

So, once news was announced just before qualifying for the Canadian Grand Prix that Tsunoda would at least be staying in the Red Bull family, attention turned to who should line up alongside the 24-year-old.

With Ricciardo and Lawson the most likely, obvious and viable candidates for the second RB seat in 2025, F1 fans' thinking followed suit.

A recent RacingNews365 poll found that just two percent of respondents either did not want one of those two drivers alongside Tsunoda. And just 2.06 percent did not know which to choose out of the pair.

But even though an overwhelming majority of 95.92 percent of F1 fans want either Ricciardo or Lawson in the RB next season, it does not mean the results are conclusive.

Lawson just about edges out Ricciardo, but only by little over one percent with over 1,600 votes cast, meaning opinion truly is divided on the matter.
