F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali and FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem are set to meet in Bahrain to discuss the ongoing situation surrounding Red Bull team principal Christian Horner.

The matter has become a high priority for the two most senior figures in F1 following the emergence of an email leaked on Thursday containing 79 files predominantly of alleged Whatsapp conversations between Horner and the woman understood to have made a complaint of 'inappropriate behaviour' against the 50-year-old.

The complaint sparked a lengthy investigation, instigated by Red Bull GmbH, the parent company of Red Bull Racing, and overseen by a member of the King's Counsel, one of the highest legal positions in the UK, who ultimately dismissed the "grievance" against Horner.

A statement from Red Bull GmbH declared the investigation to be "fair, rigorous and impartial", albeit with a right of appeal available to the female Red Bull employee, and stating categorically no details will be released. At this stage, it is unknown whether she will pursue the matter further.

Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff and McLaren CEO Zak Brown have since called for clarity on the matter and for F1 and the FIA to take further action. Wolff, in particular, described the statement issued by Red Bull GmbH as "basic, vague, and opaque".

Horner issued a private statement declaring he would "not comment on private speculation", and that he remained "fully focused on the start of the season".

With Domenicali and Ben Sulayem amongst the nearly 150 recipients of the email, it is understood they will now discuss how to move forward on an issue that has overshadowed the opening race of the new F1 season in Bahrain.
