Red Bull chief technical officer Adrian Newey has made clear his options are open when it comes to his future with Red Bull and in F1.

Newey is widely regarded as one of the greatest-ever F1 car designers and has been part of Red Bull’s set-up for almost two decades.

Prior to linking up with Red Bull in 2006, Newey enjoyed triumphant stints at Williams and McLaren and won championships with drivers such as Alain Prost and Mika Hakkinen.

Newey’s challengers have won twelve World Constructors' and thirteen World Drivers' championships since 1992, while he also enjoyed brief success in the CART Championship in the United States.

Red Bull has enjoyed a strong duo of seasons since the 2022 campaign, with last year's RB19 challenger marking itself as the most dominant car in F1 history by winning 21 out of the 22 races staged.

But amid the intra-team turmoil that has taken place within the Red Bull organisation this year, rumours surfaced that Newey could look to exit the squad.

Newey 'continues to enjoy F1'

One potential destination that was mooted for the 65-year-old was Ferrari, which would allow him to work alongside seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton.

Speaking exclusively to RacingNews365, Newey asserted he is still keen to be involved in F1 going forward but has not given extensive thought to his immediate future.

“I enjoy [it],” Newey said. “Ever since I was 10 or so, certainly by 12, I wanted to be a designer - I don’t think I knew the word ‘engineer’ - in motor racing, and ideally, Formula 1.

“That's what I [put] all my teenage years towards. I managed to get that first job in motor racing when I graduated.

“I’ve hugely enjoyed it, and I continue to enjoy it.

“So I think as long as I continue to enjoy it and the team wants me then I’ll continue to do it for the moment and then we'll have to see in the future.

“I don't tend to plan too far forward.”
