BBC to carry live coverage of 2021 Formula E season

The UK national broadcaster will show live coverage of all races from the 2020/21 season.

The BBC has agreed a deal with Formula E to provide full live coverage of the 2020/21 season across its platforms. All races will be shown with full live and free-to-air coverage on the BBC Red Button, BBC iPlayer and the BBC Sport website, with some races also airing live on BBC television channels if schedules allow for it. The coverage begins with the first race of the season in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia on February 26 and 27. The championship has also partnered up with BBC Global News to produce a set of online films looking at the development of all-electric motorsport across the world as well as behind the scenes footage of the coming season. Aarti Dabas, Chief Media Officer of Formula E, said: “Extending our partnership with the BBC gives us the platform to bring the unpredictable action of our all-electric racing to people in the UK on mainstream channels and the popular BBC digital channels, as we also look to engage the next generation of sports fans around the world with our BBC Global News content partnership.”
