Sergio Perez has asserted he is not concerned about his F1 future at Red Bull following his latest setback at the team.

Perez's qualifying session ahead of the Hungarian Grand Prix ended in the wall as the Mexican driver spun at Turn 8 around the Hungaroring during the Q1 segment.

It marked the second weekend in a row that Perez has crashed out of qualifying, while he has had just one Q3 appearance in the last seven races.

Heading into the Hungarian GP weekend, question marks were already being raised over his future at the team amid his difficult run of form.

Red Bull has also publicly spoken of its desire to see improved performances from Perez as it continues to be caught by rival outfits in the pecking order.

When asked by RacingNews365 if he is worried about his future at the team, Perez replied: “No, nothing changes.

“I'm not worried. I'm fully determined to turn my season around and focus on my performance.”

Perez issues Red Bull apology

Perez's spin came amid challenging conditions on the track, with rainfall making the circuit slippery during Q1.

Despite the latest setback, Perez asserted his determination to turn around his poor run of form as he apologised to Red Bull for the incident.

“It's so hard to judge the conditions,” he said. “It was raining hard but you were not losing grip, I was improving my lap.

“In hindsight, when we look at it, we were safe. We didn't need to do the lap but you always know a lot afterwards.

“It hurts that it happened again, especially in the run that I'm going through.

“I’m very sorry for letting my team down, it hurts a lot as a driver when you let your team down.

“But I will not give up I will really give my very best to turn the situation around and push as much as possible to get the constructors’ home.”
