Max Verstappen has questioned the FIA's Super Licence fees that are forced to be paid ahead of a new Formula 1 campaign.
Each licence costs a base fee of €10,400 with an additional €2,100 added for every point scored in the previous F1 season.
Verstappen enjoyed a highly dominant year with Red Bull by winning 19 out of the 22 races staged as he secured a third World Championship unchallenged.
However, Verstappen's success has come at a price as he scored 575 points - resulting in a €1,217,900 entry fee for 2024 campaign.
It marks the biggest sum that will be paid since the rule was introduced.

Red Bull to pay fee
Verstappen confirmed in an interview with Viaplay that the expense won't come from his own pocket, but rather it is Red Bull that will pay the fee.
“The team pays that, fortunately," he confirmed.
The figures experienced throughout the grid are vastly different - Logan Sargeant, for example, will pay just one per cent of Verstappen's sum at €12,500.
Verstappen believes that the rule needs to be altered going forward.
"I do think there should be some normal ratio in that.
“But you know, things like that get written down, and I don't think anybody expected that there would end up being that many points scored."
