Susie Wolff is "deeply insulted but sadly unsurprised" after the FIA opened a conflict of interest investigation into her and husband Toto.
On Tuesday, December 5th, Formula 1's governing body announced its compliance department would be looking into the F1 Academy boss and the Mercedes Team Principal after reports in a magazine of both parties being privy to certain information that they should not.
It is alleged that Toto Wolff arrived for a recent Team Principal's meeting armed with information that could only have come from Formula One Management (FOM) - who employ Susie Wolff to run the all-female F1 Academy series.
Toto Wolff is believed to have made a comment at this meeting, and immediately realised he had made a mistake by sharing information unavailable to the other team bosses.
Mercedes issued a statement, claiming the first it had heard about the investigation was when the FIA announced it, with former Williams F1 tester Susie responding on Instagram.
"It is disheartening that my integrity is being called into question in a such a manner, especially when it is rooted in intimidatory and misogynistic behaviour, and focused on my marital status rather than my abilities," she wrote.
"I refuse to let these baseless allegations overshadow my dedication and passion for F1 Academy.
"In the strongest possible terms, I reject these allegations."
