Oscar Piastri must appear before the stewards after allegedly impeding the Haas of Kevin Magnussen in Q1 at Imola.

The McLaren driver will report to the officials at 18:15 local time for "Alleged breach of Article 37.5 of the FIA Formula One Sporting Regulations - Car 81 unnecessarily impeding Car 20 in turn 2 at 16:16," according to the official stewards document.

In the first part of qualifying the Australian was seen in front of Magnussen in Turn 2, and it resulted in the Haas failing to make it through to the middle part of the session.

Piastri would go on to qualify in second-place, ahead of team-mate Lando Norris and behind Max Verstappen. If found guilty, he may not start keep his second-place grid slot.

McLaren brought a raft of upgrades to Miami, but the 23-year-old was only afforded half the package, whilst Norris carried his updated MCL38 to his first grand prix victory. Now that Piastri also has the full development, he would have been hoping to fight Verstappen for the win.

He would ultimately lose his starting position as a result of the investigation, with the full story available here.
