McLaren has cancelled team principal Andrea Stella's post-race media duties at the Las Vegas Grand Prix, with Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri at risk of disqualification.

The Italian will not answer to the press following the 50-lap race in Sin City in the wake of both MCL39s being investigated for their planks being too thin.

During scrutineering, the irregularity was found on both cars. FIA technical delegate Jo Bauer referred the matter to the stewards, saying: "The measured thickness [of the planks] was less than 9 mm on both cars, which is the minimum thickness required by TR Article 3.5.9 e)."

The stewards subsequently confirmed it would investigate, with the team called before the officials at 23:45 local time (07:45 UK time).

It is expected that this will mean both Norris and Piastri are disqualified from the classified results, which will have serious ramifications for the F1 drivers' standings, after they finished second and fourth, respectively, in Nevada.

If they are excluded, the formers' lead in the title fight returns to 24 points, as it was after the São Paulo Grand Prix. However, Max Verstappen will join the latter in his deficit to his McLaren team-mate.

Norris will return to 390 points with 58 points remaining across the final two rounds, with the Red Bull driver and Piastri on 366 each.
