Max Verstappen in heated Red Bull radio spat

Max Verstappen had a heated radio spat with his race engineer Gianpiero Lambiase during the São Paulo Grand Prix Sprint, as he entered the pit lane due to a red flag. 

A red flag was flown on Lap 7 due to Oscar Piastri, Nico Hulkenberg and Franco Colapinto crashing at Turn 3, resulting in a huge recovery effort being required. 

Tyre barriers also needed to be repaired, particularly due to Colapinto's impact with the barrier being heavy. 

Verstappen started in sixth but quickly overtook Fernando Alonso at the first corner of the Sprint, although was unable to challenge the top four prior to the red flag. 

While Piastri's crash promoted the Red Bull driver into fourth, he vented his frustration with his RB21 over the radio as he entered the pit lane due to the red flag. 

Verstappen's radio conversation with Lambiase went as follows:

Verstappen: "The car is just dancing everywhere. Terrible. Can’t keep up."

Lambiase: "We are going to get you through some recommendations at Turn 1, it looks poor."

Verstappen: "No, it’s just wet. I have no grip. It’s not the balance."

Lambiase: "We are giving you recommendations so you avoid oversteering into the corner every lap Max, whether you take them or not is up to you."
