Emilia Romagna Grand Prix

In what was an otherwise dull race, the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix burst into life in the closing stages as Lando Norris hunted down Max Verstappen. 

Norris came to within a second of Verstappen at the death but could not quite get within striking range as Verstappen recorded one of the finest of his 59 career wins. 

Charles Leclerc grabbed third and Lewis Hamilton sixth at Imola, with the full report available below!

Leclerc's accusation

After finishing third, Leclerc made a bold claim, believing both Red Bull and McLaren were doing "something weird" with their engines and the energy deployment.

He didn't elaborate on what he meant but added that he hoped Ferrari would be able to solve its problems despite adding a big upgrade to the car for its home race.

Verstappen's twin problems

Whilst it might have looked like a relatively easy win for Verstappen until the late Norris charge, Red Bull boss Christian Horner has revealed he was facing two major problems in the closing laps.

Russell refuses to 'sulk'

Surprisingly, George Russell made a second pit-stop at Imola, dropping behind team-mate Lewis Hamilton on a weekend he was the better Mercedes driver.

They swapped sixth and seventh as Mercedes was fourth-fastest, but it was that result in itself why Russell refused to "sulk" over the result.
