Jack Doohan's Journey - From F2 to F1

Doohan started karting in 2012, becoming champion of the Australian Kart Championship twice, finishing third in the European Kart Championship and sixth in the Global Kart Championship. Later, he transitioned to single-seaters and competed in the following series:

  • Formula 4
  • Formula 3 Asian Championship
  • Euroformula Open
  • FIA Formula 3 (2020-2021)

In 2021, he finished second in the Formula 3 championship and competed in the final two races of the season in Formula 2, replacing Richard Verschoor. He later raced for Virtuosi Racing in Formula 2 in 2022, finishing sixth with 128 points. In 2023, Doohan finished third with the same team, accumulating an impressive 168 points. He has since made the transition to Formula 1 and serves as a test driver for Alpine.

When Doohan started in F2, he was part of the Alpine Academy. As a talent within the Academy, he progressed to become a test driver for the F1 team and had the opportunity to participate in a private test day at Circuit Zandvoort.

He is now officially a Formula 1 driver for Alpine and made his debut for the French team at the 2024 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. In 2025, Jack Doohan will be a full-time F1 driver for Alpine, with Pierre Gasly as his teammate.

After the 2025 Miami Grand Prix it was announced that Doohan would be replaced by Franco Colapinto. He returned to his role as a reserve driver at Alpine.
