Christian Horner doubts it is possible for Red Bull to enjoy a level of success similar to 2023 as it defends its titles in 2024.

Armed with the RB19, the team delivered the most crushing season in the history of F1, winning 21 of 22 races, scoring 860 championship points and securing a first-ever one-two in the Drivers' as it defended both its 2022 titles.

Red Bull's opposition was minimal at times during the season, with the chasing pack of Mercedes, Ferrari, McLaren and Aston Martin all taking turns as closest challenger on any given weekend, with no team able to mount a consistent and sustained challenge.

Both Mercedes and Ferrari have committed to changing car concepts to a more Red Bull-esque design for 2024, with Horner doubting his team will be able to enjoy such dominance as it looks to retain its titles once again.

Horner doubts repeat

"None of us could have ever imagined this kind of season, to win 21 out of 22 races, five of the six Sprints and defend both titles," Horner explained at the FIA prize gala in Baku.

"To break so many records along the way, some that have stood since 1988 epitomises that every aspect of the team has been operating at a phenomenal level.

"It is not just the design and operation of the car, it is the production, it is the support functions, it is every single department, with all the different challenges of different types of circuits, conditions that we've had over the year, and reliability, with Honda giving us a great product.

"All of those aspects have come together, and it has been the most gratifying team performance that I doubt we'll be able to achieve again statistically what we've done this year.

"The team has been evolving, and we're always in pursuit of perfection and always looking to improve, so there are many things we can improve on."
