Red Bull is carrying out an internal investigation on its Team Principal Christian Horner, according to a report.

De Telegraaf has stated that Horner has been accused of 'inappropriate behaviour' by a Red Bull employee.

The report states that the senior management of the team is aware of the allegations and has launched an independent investigation.

Horner has denied the allegations made against him.

A Red Bull spokesperson informed De Telegraaf: "After the company was made aware of certain recent allegations, an independent investigation was launched.

"This process, which is already ongoing, is being carried out by an external, specialised lawyer. The company takes these matters extremely seriously and the investigation will be completed as soon as practical. It would not be appropriate to comment further at this time."

Horner has led the Red Bull Formula 1 squad since its arrival to the grid in 2005.

The Briton has gone on to lead one of the sport's most successful teams which has won seven Drivers' Championships and six Constructors' titles.

Red Bull enjoyed a highly dominant campaign last year by winning 21 out of the 22 races staged en route to double championship success.

The Milton Keynes-based squad is set to launch its new challenger, the RB20, on February 15 later this month.
