A furious Max Verstappen delivered an angry radio message during the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, directed at the stewards.
The four-time world champion received a 10-second time penalty for causing an opening lap collision with Oscar Piastri, at the first corner.
He disagreed with the penalty and referred to the stewards as "stupid idiots", before sarcastically asking for a heavier punishment next time.
Verstappen dived down the inside of Piastri at the first corner which caused both drivers to spin, dropping both down the order.
The Red Bull driver had progressed back towards the front prior to serving his penalty at the Yas Marina Circuit, before returning to the midfield after taking the punishment ahead of a pit stop.
"Can we ask for 20 seconds? Stupid idiots," stated Verstappen over the Red Bull radio after serving the penalty.
