Former Red Bull driver Christian Klien has warned the Milton Keynes-based outfit's "crazy" advantage over the field at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix felt "even more dominant" than before.

Max Verstappen and Red Bull have been almost untouchable in F1 under the latest era of technical regulations and, along with teammate Sergio Perez, the Dutchman has secured a victory at every grand prix since the start of last season bar the Singapore Grand Prix late in the year.

Following the second consecutive one-two finish of the new campaign at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit, Klien told RacingNews365: "It was quite clear at the front again with Red Bull.

"They are still in their own league. I think everyone was hoping a little that it would get closer in Jeddah with more high-speed corners.

"But the Red Bull just works there and it almost felt even more dominant in pure race pace.

"Both were playing at the front and if you look at the body language of the cars, I don't think either were at the limit like the others.

"A big gap to Ferrari still. On average they lost like half a second per lap, if you look at the race pace, which is crazy in itself."

"Mercedes were disappointing again.

"It feels like the same as last year and the year before, like they don't understand their car.

"In the high-speed corners, they didn't understand why they were losing time, for example. They started well at the weekend but it seemed like they got slower and slower over the weekend compared to the others."
