Ferrari have made their first power unit component changes of the season before any racing laps have been completed. Charles Leclerc will take a new energy store and control electronics ahead of the season-opening Bahrain Grand Prix, after qualifying third. With every driver having an allocation of two energy stores and control electronics for the season, the Ferrari driver will escape penalty. Ferrari confirmed that the changes to both were precautionary as the team was not fully happy with some parameters. The components will be investigated at Maranello after the race weekend. Leclerc is the only driver on the grid to have taken new power unit components ahead of the Bahrain GP.
