Adrian Newey is set to bag over £30 million per season when he joins Aston Martin next year, according to a report.

RacingNews365 understands Aston Martin will confirm Newey next week ahead of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.

Newey announced earlier this year that he will leave the Red Bull organisation in early 2025 and has already taken a step back from car development at the reigning world champions.

The Briton, who is widely regarded as one of the sport's greatest-ever car designers, has been linked with various projects including Ferrari and Alpine.

However, it seems he has now settled on joining Aston Martin, penning a £30m per year deal with the British team, according to BBC Sport.

The salary will make him one of the highest-paid figures in the sport, exceeding the earnings of most of the current F1 field.

Newey's arrival will be another major investment by Aston Martin under the leadership of Lawrence Stroll.

The Silverstone-based squad recently moved into a new factory which includes its own wind tunnel as it seeks to pull itself into world championship contention across the coming years.

Aston Martin will enter next year's F1 campaign with Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll forming its driver line-up for the third consecutive campaign.
