Antonio Felix da Costa has conceded that he has "surprised" himself by his recent Formula E resurgence, which has seen him win two of the last three races.

The Porsche driver claimed victory in the second race of last weekend's Shanghai double-header and also won the second race of the Berlin double-header three weeks ago.

Based on provisional finishing positions, he has won three of the last six races, as Da Costa was victorious in the first race of the Misano double-header prior to being disqualified.

Porsche have appealed his disqualification and the court hearing at the International Court of Appeal is set for June 7.

It has been a dramatic turn of form for the Portuguese star, who failed to score a point in the first three races, leading to speculation over his Porsche future especially after Abt Cupra's Nico Müller completed a test for the team.

With Da Costa now being one of the most in-form drivers on the grid, it looks increasingly likely he will remain with the German manufacturer.

"Honestly, I've surprised myself," Da Costa told RacingNews365. "I'm getting older, I think that's a good thing.

"I think experience got me out of this one, to get out of this hole that I found myself in at the beginning of the season, and belief and all that.

"Obviously, it was tough. But as you said, counting Misano, and I do count that race, having three wins in the last six races, I don't think even in the year I won I had such a roll. I think, I did win two in a row, I think. But we almost did that now also."

'Big relief'

Should Da Costa's Misano victory be reinstated, then he will have matched the number of wins he claimed in his title-winning season (3 wins).

However, he will still be some distance off the title fight, which team-mate Pascal Wehrlein is very much involved in.

By winning races, Da Costa has helped Porsche and Wehrlein take points away from Jaguar, something which has come as a huge relief to him.

"I mean, between being able to win the races, and at the same time, try and help Pascal as much as I can, it's been a really productive last six races," continued Da Costa.

"I'm happy with how we came back swinging as as a team. It's been nice and it's a big relief, absolutely."
