Jaguar's Nick Cassidy opened up an 18-point lead in the Formula E standings after a first win of the season in the second Diriyah E-Prix.
From third on the grid, Cassidy held position on the opening lap, and quickly moved up to second place when pole-sitter Oliver Rowland took his first attack mode, with Robin Frijns leading after a good start from second, as Frijns then maintained position over Rowland after his first activiation.
In what was a 36-lap affair, one shorter than the first race on Friday, Cassidy and Frijns quickly pulled away after the second attack mode activations, as Frijns closed in as both tried to conserve energy at the Diriyah circuit.
Rowland closed in on the leading duo, but Cassidy was able to fend off any challenges for a sixth E-Prix win and third podium from the first three races of the year, joined by former Envision team-mate Frijns and Rowland.
Race 1 winner Jake Dennis could only manage 10th, whilst ex-AlphaTauri Formula 1 driver Nyck de Vries is still awaiting his first point of the new campaign after a 15th place finish.
The next E-Prix is in Brazil at the Sao Paulo Street Circuit on March 16th, with Cassidy leading the standings on 53 points, with Pascal Wehrlein second after eighth and seventh place finishes with two-time champion Jean-Eric Vergne third in the table on 33 points, picking up a second and eighth for his efforts in Saudi Arabia.
