Cassidy insists he must 'be better'

Nick Cassidy has insisted that he must "be better", following a frustrating São Paulo E-Prix.

The Jaguar driver's championship lead has been whittled down from 19 points to just four, after he crashed out in dramatic fashion. Cassidy failed to make the duels and was "p****d off with qualifying, as he had shown good pace throughout free practice.

Missing the duels left him with ground to make up in what was a peloton-style race, with Cassidy having been one of a number of drivers to suffer front-wing damage.

However, in Cassidy's case, his front-wing fell off at high-speed on the way into Turn 10, resulting in it becoming lodged under the car. He lost all control as a result and ploughed into the wall with some force.

He walked away safely from what he admitted was a "scary" accident. Despite the incident having in many ways been caused by the peloton, he doesn't believe it was too extreme in Brazil.

"No not really, because there wasn't actually that much passing," Cassidy told RacingNews365. "I think that was a great Formula E race, the drivers at the front did a fantastic job so well done top them. I've just got to be better."

Confidence not impacted

Given how frustrating Cassidy's São Paulo weekend was, it would be easy to assume that his confidence has been dented.

However, this is not the case as he feels good looking ahead to the inaugural Tokyo E-Prix.

"I was quickest on 300kW in FP2, I was fastest after the first run in quali, I think I'm one of the fastest cars right now," Cassidy added. "I've just come up with three podiums, I'm leading the World Championship. I take a lot of confidence into Tokyo."
