Breaking: Monaco GP red-flagged after huge three-car pile-up

The Monaco Grand Prix has been red-flagged after a first-lap incident involving Sergio Perez and the Haas drivers.

The Monaco Grand Prix was red-flagged on the first lap after a massive accident involving Sergio Perez and the Haas drivers Kevin Magnussen and Nico Hulkenberg.

As the field climbed the hill towards Casino Square on the opening lap, Magnussen tagged Perez's Red Bull, spitting him into the barrier on the outside at high-speed.

The Mexican was then pushed down the track sideways as Hulkenberg was also involved, being caught by the spinning Perez having missed the initial contact.

The RB20 of Perez was destroyed in the incident with the wheels being torn from their suspension mounting points as the survival cell protected the driver.

The race was quickly red-flagged to clear the debris, with Carlos Sainz also dropping down from third place as he suffered a puncture, and ran ride at Casino Square, dropping down to 16th - although he will take the restart in third.

There will be a lengthy delay as barrier repairs are undertaken.

Charles Leclerc leads under the red-flag from Oscar Piastri, Lando Norris, George Russell, Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton.

Replays also showed an incident involving Alpine pair Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly at Portier before the red-flag.

Ocon lunged up the inside, and was tipped into the air by Gasly's sister car - leading to Ocon retiring and a furious Gasly asking why he was attacked by his team-mate
