Alexander Albon will be investigated by the Imola stewards post-race, having already served a penalty for his Williams being released from the pits in an unsafe condition.

In doing so, the officials will try to determine whether or not he knew the car was not safe to return to the circuit.

After making his mandatory pit stop, the Williams was seen running slowly. Albon was quick to point out to the team that one of his tyres appeared to not be on correctly.

Having completed a lap at slow speed, falling a lap down in the process, the two-time podium finisher came back into the pits to get the issue fixed.

He was subsequently given a 10 second stop and go penalty after an initial stewards investigation. Despite not needing to stop again in the race, the team brought him in - thus avoiding having to serve the sanction at the next race, in Monaco.

However, in the decision document, the stewards specified their intention to further investigate the Williams driver upon conclusion of the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix.

"The Stewards intend to investigate after the race whether the driver continued to drive the car, knowing that it was released in an unsafe condition, which is an alleged breach of Art. 34.14.e) of the FIA Formula One Sporting Regulations," the document read.
