Max Verstappen dominated the United States Grand Prix to blow the world drivers' championship wide open - and ramp up the pressure on Oscar Piastri.

Verstappen's win earned him 25 points to further eat into Piastri's 55-point lead as Charles Leclerc starred but was eventually passed in the closing laps by Lando Norris, who rescued an extra three precious points in his championship battle with Piastri and Verstappen.

After the race, Piastri now has 346 points, Norris 332 and Verstappen 306, with 141 left on the board in the final five races, including two Sprints.

Lewis Hamilton's podium drought continues after a fourth-placed finish, but it equalled his best of the season from Imola, Austria and Britain.

Piastri laboured to fifth.
