Max Verstappen's sensational Austrian Grand Prix pole position is at risk, as the Red Bull driver has been placed under investigation.

Verstappen blitzed the field to secure pole at the Red Bull Ring, but now faces a nervy wait to see if he will keep his starting position.

The Dutchman is under investigation following an incident at the pit exit, where he is noted down as having potentially been "driving unnecessarily slowly".

Verstappen provisionally claimed pole position after a dominant performance throughout qualifying, where his 1:04.314 was four tenths of a second faster than Lando Norris in second.

At a circuit where the lap is completed in 64-65 seconds, Verstappen's pole position margin is staggering.
