Sergio Perez took to social media on Sunday afternoon, in response to rumours that he could retire from Formula 1.

Following the recent Singapore Grand Prix, rumours started circulating that Perez could announce his retirement from F1 at the Mexican Grand Prix – his beloved home race.

Perez signed a new 1+1 deal earlier this campaign, keeping him with Red Bull for next season and giving the Milton Keynes-based team an option to retain the driver for 2026.

With the exception of a strong performance throughout the Azerbaijan Grand Prix until his penultimate lap crash, it has been a difficult year for Perez.

The Mexican driver has been consistently slower than team-mate Max Verstappen, hurting Red Bull in the constructors' championship.

Perez is 187 points behind Verstappen in the F1 drivers' championship, with the 34-year-old finding himself in eighth place.

Despite his struggles, retirement is not on the cards for Perez, who recently revealed that he is not considering leaving the pinnacle of motorsport yet.

To further silence the rumours, Perez comically posted a clip from popular movie 'The Wolf of Wall Street', and captioned it "Sorry" with a series of laughing emojis.
