Lando Norris has expressed belief he should have a higher starting position on the Miami Grand Prix grid following qualifying.
The Briton is set to start the race in fifth place, one position ahead of team-mate Oscar Piastri.
Norris has been fitted with a substantial upgrade for the event in Miami as McLaren look to continue its push toward the front of the grid.
With Norris trailing the Red Bull and Ferrari duo, the 24-year-old suggested he should have got involved in the fight with the top four.
“I think we should be higher up,” Norris told Sky F1.
“We did what we thought was right but on track sometimes things just work out a bit differently.
“We made some of those changes, I wish I could go back on them right now before [Sunday] but we can’t.”

Norris has endured a challenging race weekend so far as he was eliminated from the sprint on the opening lap after contact at Turn 1.
The McLaren driver was then fined €50,000 for crossing the track on foot after retiring.
Although his top-five outing in qualifying marked a strong recovery, Norris rued a number of changes the team made ahead of the session.
“I think we did better than [Friday] in terms of managing the tyres,” he said.
“We showed a bit more with the car, made some changes and potentially just not in the right direction.
“I was a lot more confident yesterday than I was today. So just some things to review. It’s close.
“I was more confident [on Friday] and I just lost more confidence for some reason. I think that showed on the lap time.”
