Max Verstappen has revealed that he has internally clarified to Red Bull over whether he will remain with the outfit next season.
All the signs point towards the Dutchman continuing with the Milton Keynes-based team, who he is contracted to until at least the end of 2028.
He has been asked about his future on several occasions over recent months, due to rumours linking him with Aston Martin and Mercedes.
However, Red Bull's inconsistent form and outside concerns surrounding the Austrian team's 2026 package have also played a part in Verstappen's future being discussed.
"I mean, I’ve said it many times,” Verstappen insisted to The Telegraph.
Verstappen has previously addressed his future and stressed he is loyal to Red Bull, although has usually left the door open should the team's competitiveness fall.
Whilst he is not wanting to fully confirm his plans to the public, he has told Red Bull internally.
"Well, I’ve said it to the team," stated Verstappen. "I think that’s the most important thing."
He accepts that not confirming his future to the media will result in the continuation of speculation linking him to a departure, something he has no concern over.
"Yeah, but I mean, we also don’t know if I will wake up tomorrow, you know what I mean? You just never know. This is the thing."
