Haas F1

Haas will be hoping to continue their ascent up the Constructors' Championship table with Esteban Ocon and Oliver Bearman as their drivers for 2025.
 

Ayao Komatsu Team Principal of Haas

Guenther Steiner will continue to lead the team as Team Principal, a role he has held since Haas debuted in F1 in 2016. The Italian has an extensive background in motorsport, and has used his wealth of experience to help guide the progress of Formula 1's only American constructor.

Despite Gene Haas - founder of the Haas F1 team - submitting his interest to the FIA in 2014, it was not until 2016 that the squad would finally make their F1 debut, and it was a memorable entrance into the sport. At the season-opening Australian Grand Prix, Romain Grosjean scored the team's first points, finishing the race in sixth place.

Grosjean would win all 29 of the team's points that season, which prompted Haas to hire Kevin Magnussen to replace Grosjean's teammate Esteban Gutierrez for 2017 and beyond. The team were on an upward trajectory for the next two years, with their best season to date coming in 2018. During that campaign, their haul of 93 points was good enough for fifth place in the Constructors' Championship.

Rookies Mick Schumacher and Nikita Mazepin join Haas

Unfortunately, since then, Haas have suffered a reversal in fortunes, with a disappointing 2020 season coinciding with Ferrari's engine woes. Grosjean and Magnussen both exited the team at the end of the year, and two rookies were brought in in the form of Mick Schumacher and Nikita Mazepin.

2021 proved to be another challenging year for Haas, with the team's young drivers mostly only able to battle with each other at the rear of the field. The American outfit scored no points for the first time since arriving into F1, putting them at the bottom of the Constructors' Championship.

First F1 pole for Magnussen and Haas

The team's focus on 2022 proved successful, with Schumacher and Magnussen (Mazepin was kicked out following Russia's invasion of Ukraine) helping the team to P8 in the Constructors' Championship, with Magnussen claiming a memorable first F1 Pole Position for himself and the team.

The 2023 and 2024 season

Following Schumacher's below-par performances, Haas swapped him for the experienced Nico Hulkenberg for 2023, with the team hoping the experienced combination will help their bid to climb higher in the Constructors' standings. Unfortunately, the team finished last in the Constructors' Championship. Due to disappointing performances, the contract of team principal Günther Steiner was not renewed. In 2024, he will be replaced by Ayao Komatsu.

The American team performed significantly better in 2024 and consistently scored points. The team finished seventh in the championship with 58 points, a huge improvement compared to the previous season. As a result, Haas is now seen as a strong midfield team and there are high expectations for the team in 2025. Especially with the arrival of the experienced Esteban Ocon and the rookie Oliver Bearman, who has shown his skills in several races.
