Max Verstappen has responded to Mercedes' early pace in France, with the Dutch driver going fastest in second practice.
Verstappen went quickest on his soft tyre run midway through FP2, 0.008 clear of Mercedes' Valtteri Bottas. The Finn set his fastest time on the medium tyre, early in the hour long session. He didn't improve on his soft tyre run.
Neither Mercedes driver were able to go quicker on their soft tyre run than they managed on their medium tyre run, appearing to run out of grip towards the end of their flying laps.
