Lewis Hamilton starts on pole position from Mercedes teammate Valtteri Bottas at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit, after championship leader Max Verstappen dramatically crashed out of qualifying when he was on course to steal top spot.
Verstappen will start from third on the grid, escaping a penalty for a new gearbox, and will look to stop Hamilton from winning a third consecutive race. The Red Bull driver, who has an advantage of eight points over Hamilton, could become World Champion today if results go his way.
