Valtteri Bottas put Mercedes at the top of the times during Friday's second free practice session for the Qatar Grand Prix.
Bottas posted a time of 1:23.148 on the Soft compound tyre, having earlier had an effort deleted for exceeding track limits. It put the Mercedes driver two-tenths clear of Pierre Gasly, who continued to impress for AlphaTauri.
F1 title rivals Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton followed in third and fourth respectively, the Dutchman briefly sidelined for rear wing checks, while the McLaren of Lando Norris rounded out the top five positions.
