Lewis Hamilton set the pace in an interrupted opening practice session for the Dutch Grand Prix, beating championship rival Max Verstappen by less than one-tenth of a second.
Hamilton went quickest at the end of the session, after a long stoppage due to Aston Martin's Sebastian Vettel coming to a halt at the exit of the pit lane with an engine issue.
This caused a red flag which lasted for half an hour, so the drivers only had 30 minutes of green flag running at Zandvoort.
Carlos Sainz was third fastest with Ferrari teammate Charles Leclerc in fourth as Valtteri Bottas finished the morning in fifth.
