Yuki Tsunoda has opened up on his biggest regret since joining the Red Bull team earlier this year.
Tsunoda was drafted in to replace Liam Lawson after the opening two rounds of the campaign when the New Zealander struggled for pace alongside Max Verstappen.
But Tsunoda has endured similar woes, leaving his F1 future in the balance as the season enters its final two rounds.
Although he has been able to score points on occasion, Tsunoda has been a regular contender outside of the top 10.
However, the 25-year-old insisted he has no regrets over his results, stating his only remorse stems from his major crash during qualifying in Imola, where he flipped his car and was forced to resort to an older specification.
“No, I don’t have any regrets, but maybe the only thing I can say is the Imola crash,” he told media including RacingNews365.
“That made me probably back step quite a lot in parts, I would say. So, only that.
“My decision to the Red Bull is happy. I’m still taking the same one, exactly the same. That made me stronger.
“But the only thing is that. Something that I made a big mistake this year, it was that Imola crash. That’s it.”

Yuki Tsunoda aims to boost Max Verstappen title hopes
It is widely expected that Tsunoda will not race for Red Bull next year, with Isack Hadjar poised for a promotion following a strong rookie campaign.
As Tsunoda seeks to end the season on a high, the Japanese driver has set his sights on assisting Verstappen's championship push against the McLaren drivers.
“Frustrated? No, because I knew these things since this story started,” Tsunoda said. “It really actually started over the season. So, no, not really frustrated.
"For me, the things I have to do is the same, but a little bit different now because Max is now a championship contender.
“Definitely I want to be in the mix and try to help Max, and I think naturally that will be around the top of the grid, and that will also be positive for me as well.
“That will lead to the, I guess, positive things to my future.
“Two races to go, as a driver myself I just want to compete with the best performance from myself.
“I think especially recent races, in Vegas, I was having the best weekend until everything went south in qualifying. It was not in my control.
“Just keep doing what I'm doing, put it all together.”
