Sebastian Vettel will get behind the wheel of a Ferrari car once again at the Italian Grand Prix this weekend, the team has confirmed.

Vettel raced for the Italian squad for six years, winning 14 grands prix for the team - the most behind Michael Schumacher and Niki Lauda.

Schumacher is being honoured by Ferrari at the Italian Grand Prix this weekend with the team introducing a throwback livery as it celebrates the seven-time champion's highly successful 10-year stint.

However, he his being celebrated even further as Vettel, along with Rubens Barrichello, will drive a lap around the track.

Barrichello, a long-time Ferrari team-mate of Schumacher, will get behind the wheel of the F2002 on Saturday around Monza.

Vettel, who has long shared a strong friendship with Schumacher, will have his turn in the same car prior to the start of Sunday's grand prix.

Ferrari has detailed that the car will be operated by its F1 Clienti department and will use an “advanced sustainable fuel developed specifically by Shell, drawing on the know-how acquired this season to create the fuel being used in 2026.”

Three of Schumacher's Ferrari cars will also be on display throughout the weekend at Monza.

They will be the 1996 F310 and the 2006 248 F1, Schumacher's first and last cars with Ferrari, as well as the F2002.
