2026 F1 Italian Grand Prix - Monza weather forecast

F1 drivers are set for an extremely hot weekend at the Italian Grand Prix at Monza, with the temperature expected to be in the mid-30 degree region. 

Ahead of the trip to northern Italy, the current weather forecasts predict a rain-free weekend with sweltering conditions throughout, with Saturday's qualifying day currently expected to be the hottest of the three days of track action, topping the Mercury at 34 degrees Celsius. 

Both Friday and Sunday are expected to max out at 33 degrees. 

In terms of wind direction, drivers are set for a mixed bag, with changeable directions from session to session.

A headwind into big braking zones is ideal for drivers as it allows them to brake late, with the pit straight at Monza running directly north-south and the run through Curva Grande into the Variante della Roggia leaving drivers facing due east.

On Friday, the wind will be blowing from the east, southeast, before switching to from the south in the afternoon - a direct tailwind down the main straight.

For Saturday's qualifying, the winds will consistently come from the west, roughly corresponding to a headwind into the Ascari chicane but a tailwind into the della Roggia chicane. 

For the race on Sunday, the winds will be coming from the east, corresponding to that precious headwind into the della Roggia, usually the best overtaking spot on the track aside from the Rettifilo chicane of Turns 1 and 2.
