Yuki Tsunoda has revealed that he heard a rumour he was set to keep an F1 seat within the Red Bull family, just moments before being informed he would lose his spot.

It was announced ahead of the season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix that Tsunoda would be replaced by Isack Hadjar for 2026, while Liam Lawson and Arvid Lindblad would form Racing Bulls' driver pairing.

Red Bull issued Isack Hadjar caution as 'biggest' team mistake highlighted

Red Bull must work to ensure it provides all support possible for team newcomer Isack Hadjar or risk more line-up uncertainty, according to former F1 driver Derek Daly.

Hadjar has been chosen as Yuki Tsunoda's successor for the 2026 season after the Japanese driver became the latest figure to struggle alongside Max Verstappen.

'Easy discussion' predicted if Lewis Hamilton opts for Ferrari F1 retirement

Former Alpine executive director Marcin Budkowski has predicted it will be an "easy discussion" between Lewis Hamilton and Ferrari if the Briton chooses to retire at the end of 2026.

Hamilton's maiden campaign with Ferrari fell drastically short of expectations, with the seven-time world champion failing to claim a Grand Prix podium and finishing 86 points behind Charles Leclerc.

Guenther Steiner has voiced his surprise at the explosive way Helmut Marko left Red Bull, with the Austrian taking aim at the team and launching a scathing attack on former team boss Christian Horner after a seemingly straightforward and well-natured exit.

The 82-year-old decided to step away from the paddock and his role as motorsport adviser for the energy drinks manufacturer at the end of the 2025 F1 season.
