Arvid Lindblad suffered his first in-race F1 retirement following a collision with McLaren's Oscar Piastri late in the Mexico City Grand Prix.
Running in a solid seventh position at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez, Lindblad was holding off Piastri when the Australian made a move around the outside into Turn 1.
Piastri claimed Lindblad moved under braking on the approach, forcing him to attack to Lindblad's left.
Emerging out of the corner and on the short run to Turn 2, the front-right wheel of Piastri's MCL40 heavily caught the left-rear of Lindblad's VCARB03.
The contact sent Lindblad into the air before skidding across the track and into a barrier opposite Turn 2.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, the stewards opted to investigate the incident.
The incident on lap 59 of the 71-lap race led to a handful of laps before racing resumed, with Red Bull's Max Verstappen leading Lewis Hamilton in his Ferrari.
