Karting and the transition to single-seaters
At the age of seven, Hadjar began competitive karting in 2012. After participating in various national championships, he progressed to international karting in 2017.
Subsequently, in 2019, the Franco-Algerian was able to make the step up to single-seaters in the French Formula 4 championship.
In the following years, he competed in Formula Regional, the Formula Regional Asian Championship, and the Formula 3 Asian Championship.
F2 and F3
In 2022, Hadjar was able to move up to the FIA Formula 3 Championship, where he finished fourth.
Isack Hadjar made his Formula 2 debut in 2023 with Hitech Pulse-Eight. That year, he finished 14th, two points behind his teammate Jak Crawford.
For 2024, Hadjar switched to Campos Racing, where he partnered with another Red Bull junior, Pepe Martí.
This was an extremely successful season, with the Franco-Algerian narrowly missing out on the title, which was decided in the very last lap of the season. Hadjar ultimately finished second in the Formula 2 championship behind champion Gabriel Bortoleto.
The promotion to F1
Hadjar's debut F1 season came in 2025 where he was given a seat at the Racing Bulls team. He suffered heartbreak at his debut as a formation lap crash in Australia cast a dark shadow over his debut.
However, it would not deny him a highly successful campaign saw him score a podium result at the Dutch Grand Prix.
His strong rookie year in F1 convinced Red Bull he was ready for a spot at the senior team and for 2026, he was given the second seat at the squad alongside Max Verstappen.
