The Mercedes F1 W08 was yet another dominant entry from the German manufacturer, with the team once again coming out on top despite a stiff challenge from Ferrari.
By 2017 Nico Rosberg had said goodbye to Formula 1 following his title win the previous year, with Mercedes opting to bring in Valtteri Bottas as his replacement. The Finn showed himself to be a worthy replacement, winning three races in his debut season with the team en route to a third place finish in the standings.
However Lewis Hamilton was once again the star man, winning his fourth drivers' championship after trailing Vettel for the first 12 rounds. The Brit leapfrogged his rival in the second half of the season, clinching the title at the Mexican Grand Prix with two races to go.
All in all the Mercedes W08 won 12 of the 20 races along with 15 pole positions. The team also won their fourth consecutive constructors' title, picking up 668 points to Ferrari's 522.
