Pierre Gasly shocked Monza by claiming pole position for the Italian Grand Prix, just over 24 hours after being stripped of his Monaco podium! It was a deserving result for the Frenchman, in what was his first pole of his F1 career.
Elsewhere, Lewis Hamilton survived an almighty scare in the second part of qualifying, where he progressed to Q3 by just 0.001s. Remarkably, the Ferraris went on to qualify in third and fourth, putting both Charles Leclerc and Hamilton in contention of victory.
