George Russell capitalised on a rare but costly Kimi Antonelli mistake to claim a jaw-dropping pole position for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, doing so by the biggest margin since Max Verstappen at the 2023 Canadian Grand Prix!
Antonelli hit the wall at the first corner in Q1, with the championship leader to start at best from 16th in Saturday's race. Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton were both frustrated figures after the session, the former due to engine problems and the latter because of the tyres.
