Last weekend's ELMS race at Portimao saw LMP3 driver Andreas Laskaratos having to make a 50-50 decision heading down the pit straight, when another driver spun in front of him.
An LMP2 car spun heading down the straight, with the cars behind having to take sudden avoiding action. Laskaratos, faced with a split second decision to go left or right, chose right. This proved to be the wrong choice, though, as he ended up slamming into the entry to the pit lane.
Thankfully, he wasn't hurt in the accident, helped by the plentiful padding that surrounded the end of the barriers.
He explained afterwards that he had reacted instinctively to the spin in front of him, but was caught out by how close the pit wall entry had been.
