Oliver Bearman shares F1 future update amid Haas contract silence

Oliver Bearman has insisted his “goal” is to continue with Haas for the 2027 season, despite the lack of communication about his future.

Bearman is enduring his second full season with the American squad but remains part of the Ferrari team through its driver academy.

Haas has already announced one-half of its line-up for 2027, with rookie Rafael Camara coming in to replace Esteban Ocon, whose exit from the outfit has been confirmed.

It has been expected for some time that Bearman will continue with the team into next year, but the Briton has stated matters are still being finalised.

“No, I think it's very clear,” Bearman told media including RacingNews365.

“I want to continue with Haas. That's definitely my goal.

“There are a few things in the background that we're working on, but it's been very clear that continuing with Haas will be my target, and we're just finalising a few things on that front.”

Bearman admits situation 'not in my hands'

Bearman has bagged 23 points so far this year and sits 13th in the drivers' standings, a handful of positions higher than his experienced team-mate Esteban Ocon.

The 21-year-old has only been able to add to his tally once in the last 13 rounds, but has been hindered by the performance struggles endured by Haas.

When asked when he expects an announcement will be made regarding his future, Bearman said: “I don't know, to be honest.

“It's not really in my hands, I can tell you that. If it was up to me, it would have already been announced a long time ago.

“But there are a few bigger-picture things that we're working on.”
