Mercedes fined
In an otherwise trouble-free qualifying for the Japanese Grand Prix, the only major incident involved George Russell and Oscar Piastri in Q1.
Both Mercedes were released from the garage just as Piastri was trundling down the pit-lane in his McLaren, and had to take avoiding action to prevent a crash.
It drew the attention of the stewards, who promptly summoned both drivers after they had qualified ninth and sixth, respectively.
Mercedes was slapped with a fine for its role as Russell was not penalised.
